Date Night…….

One of my favourite things to do is dress up and go out, I think even from an early age I would love to put on my mum’s high heels, clip on earrings, chunky beads and prance around like a prize idiot…. thinking about it, to be honest not much has changed since then!!! Maybe with just a little less prancing, prize idiot I still got that!! 😂

So even now when I get the chance to dress-up, I jump at the chance. When it’s for ‘date night’ though, this is even more of a reason to get my special clobber on, as it comes with the additional bonus of being wined and dined by my favourite person. 😍

Black is not my usual ‘go to’ colour, I always tend to shy away from it on my thoughts that it is a bit boring & too unspoken. However for this occasion I thought I'd go to the dark side and if I maybe just slipped in a little splash of colour I wouldn’t look at, or class my attire as boring. In fact, I felt like maybe adding color to the black, together would give the overall look a touch of class and a slight subtlety!!! At first I did think of going for some bright coloured shoes or a bright jacket (aka my trusty Teddy!) to spice it up but I admit although against my rules, I quite liked the head to floor blackness, it was classy...

So after a bit of contemplation and seeing as it was date night with my hubby, I decided to add the colour into my make-up. Now I’m not usually one for wearing lippy on a night out, partly since I feel like it’s a bit of a waist of time, painfully putting it on for it to be rubbed off after for first sip or hello gesture. Or maybe I should face facts and admit it’s because I’m so terrible at applying it, either way I suppose I tend not to bother.

However, I felt tonight’s date night was a time for me to go crazy and embrace the lippy…. So, with that in mind I decided to throw ALL caution to the wind and go uber crazy in the form of PINK!! I brought this from https://www.youniqueproducts.com/products/view/US-31804-00#.XUrHVPZFzIU

a while back on a slight whim just because I absolutely loved the colour and sadly haven’t really done it any justice or given it a chance since then. However, after application I must admit I still LOVE the colour, even my husband loved it…. plus (& this is the best bit!) the lippy stayed on ALL NIGHT LONG even after the drinks and the food!!! In fact I think it was still holding out on Saturday morning but maybe that’s another story!!

All in all, I think the black & pink combo kinda actually worked on this occasion which meant I was happy & confident in my look…it was made even better by the fact my hubby loved it too!!! WINNING...….
