So we all know that I absolutely LOVE an animal print, some may say that I'm a little obsessed with it, but I think it's just a strong and ongoing admiration for it. After all love it or hate it, this print just keeps on coming back into fashion and has been coming and going for years, and lets face it some of the greatest fashion icons have seriously rocked it.
Leopard print really hit the mainstream in 1947, when Christian Dior included it in his debut “New Look” collection. Dior used leopard not as a fur or a faux fur, but as a print
So it might come as a surprise to you that I don't actually own a pair of leopard print trousers....I know #spoileralert so I decided that this needed to be rectified and that this blog would be a shout out to leopard pants.....
So both trousers are from I SAW IT FIRST and very similar to each other tbh, apart from the colour. Here goes.......
Number one:
My first pair were a natural leopard print, with a wide leg style and in a satin fabric. I wasn't too sure about this fabric as I thought they might look more like PJ's than trousers, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had to go up a size to a 12 with these as there was no stretch or giver to them but the overall fit and especially the length were both fantastic.
Looking for leopard print trousers has made me realize how many different colour versions there are, and I don't mean the obvious colour change like red, blue or pink etc. I mean the re are so many different colour variations on the brown / natural leopard print. Plus also surprisingly, the size of the spot is so different, it's truly amazing how the pattern has transformed so much into a variety of different variations.
I must admit (& I know I am maybe a little biased!!) but I liked the pattern on these trousers, I thought the colouring and the size of the spot was well combined and looked good together on the chosen fabric.
So first up I tried it with a simple black top, this look is a little demure and plain for me, so I teamed it up with a pair of red heels, just to add a little splash of colour. I liked it as the colour palette went well together, I think they would look incredible with a sexy black lace bodysuit or a black chiffon shirt tucked in? What do you think?

I then tried the same trousers on with a white vest bodysuit for a bit more of a summery vibe. I liked this look a lot as the bodysuit helped emphasize a more curvy figure and was also more contrasting in colour compared to my first choice.
Looking back at the photos I think perhaps I should of combined these trousers with a few more vibrant coloured tops, like either a shocking bright red, an azure blue or lime green bodysuit to really colour clash this outfit up.

Trousers:
FIT: 9/10
FABRIC: 8/10
COLOUR: 8/10
ANIMAL DESIRE: 8/10
TOTAL: 8/10
Number two:
My second choice of trousers were actually pretty much the same kind of style as my first choice, they were a high waisted style with wide fitted legs and in a satin fabric. The exception was that the pattern was in blue and I think with slightly smaller spots in the print. I liked the difference just the colour made to the whole look and it went really well with the black top I tried on with my first pair of trousers.

I then tried them on again with the same white vest bodysuit as before to again give a more summery vibe. I really liked this look on and thought the top went well with the trousers and the red heels, it definitely brightened up the whole look. I think maybe teamed up with a cropped black leather jacket this would look fantastic for a night out.

Last but definitely not least I decided to raise the colour game a little by trying these trousers on with a green bodysuit and I think this might of been my favourite combination out of all of them. The diamante straps made the whole outfit a little more glam and combined with the bright colour really made a colour pop statement.

I think maybe I need to explore this idea more and find a red & a pair of pink trousers to really embrace the coloured leopard print look, after all I'll try anything once, especially when it comes to animal print.

Trousers:
FIT: 9/10
FABRIC: 8/10
COLOUR: 9/10
ANIMAL DESIRE: 9/10
TOTAL: 9/10
So if you love a little animal print in your life or if you have any tips on where I can buy 'the best' or perhaps some even funkier leopard print trousers than these two, whatever the style, please be free to drop me a line and let me know. I'd love to hear all about them.......and of course try them on.
I hope you all enjoyed reading this post. Keep Up the Animal Love Everyone. L x
