Jumping To Glory…….

I’ve recently discovered a great love for the Jumpsuit. When I was younger, I used to wish that I could rock one out in the same way that both Britney & J-Lo could (They could, and still can, rock one like a pro, I mean what teenage girl didn’t love the all in one red leather number Britney sung her heart out in?!!) but I always found that they were either a little too short in the body and/or leg!! Which meant for a very, let’s say ‘unflattering’ look!! Which is why I was delighted by the ‘TALL’ section ASOS have introduced into the ranges.

Apart from the fact that you only need to choose one item of clothing for the day – what’s more to love, I also believe that they can look both classy, yet funky and are a great addition to any great wardrobe.

So purely for the world of science I decided to have a little jumpsuit experiment and went on the search for some serious cool and funky jumpsuits. This was my way of finding out and deciding what exactly I liked, be it what kind of style / fabric / colour and pattern rocked best... Off to trusty ASOS I go...!

JUMPSUIT 1

This was mainly purchased because I loved the lace detail at the back and thought that it would really show off my new tattoo to perfection. I also admittedly loved the purple colour; it was a little bit gothic looking but also with an elegant feel

The fabric is very soft and thin, but still nice to touch, it’s also a little bit more see through, so you perhaps need to be careful with the underwear choice, but apart from that I loved it this choice. I had to go for a bigger size than normal as it didn’t fit too well around the bust area and to be honest, I’m glad I did as I think it helped with the overall fit and length. The smaller size had been a little bit ‘snug’ in the body length, so the extra cm’s worked really well.

I think the peg leg style worked well with this design, it meant that the focus was on the top part of the outfit, especially the back. It also meant for a nice curvy / sliming triangle look was focus.

I mean maybe I could team this up with a pair of DMs’, a black leather jacket and some serious black earrings for the colder / more winter nights!! That would certainly rock…….

JUMPSUIT 2

I wasn’t sure that this one would look too great to be honest, as I’m not usually very comfortable or confident in going bra-less. However I was both surprised and delighted that the ‘no bra’ thing didn’t prove to be too much of a problem. The fabric used is 95% Polyester & 5% Elastane so is reasonably thick and elasticated, which means together if can hide a multitude of sins, that you would maybe prefer to cover up and also thick enough not to worry about being see-through!!

The fabric is also very soft and smooth to the touch so feels super great on the skin which also means that it’s comfortable to wear, teamed up with the minimal back clasp I think this jumpsuit would make a great summer outfit, although saying that perhaps teamed up with a black jacket and black heels it could perhaps even work during the autumn / colder months. I also think that the bright red colour is fantastic and shocking enough for the right kind of ‘stand out’ statement, maybe not Britney or J-Lo statement but one that’s worth the purchase.

After looking at these two ‘Jumpspirations’ I think that perhaps I need to take this experiment further and try a few more styles out. I liked the fact that they were different in style (one was a peg leg, the other more boot cut / flared) but I needed to take this to a more in depth level and see what other great designs were out there!! Besides one small step shouldn’t just stop there, I might as well make the giant leap into Jumpsuit Glory…….What do you guys think? Where have you found THE jumpsuit that works for you?

TO BE CONTINUED!
