Finding that perfect Guest List dress, we’ve all been there and perhaps left it a little to the last minute, resulting in an over the top mass ‘panic buy’ of dresses which seems like the most appropriate and best idea doesn’t it?!?!? I’ve already shown you a few of my recent choices, so leading on from that previous post here are my others…and the winning look!!

Guest List 4

I brought this dress ‘BOOHOO LACE MIDI DRESS’ because I loved the lace detail on it, it looked really delicate and fancy. When I tried it on it fitted perfectly, it was tight in the right places and I felt like the bits I wanted covered weren’t going anywhere. I also was really taken with the length of this dress, they call it ‘midi’ length, which is between mini and maxi and I must admit I have fallen for this length. It’s flattering and I suppose a little bit demurer.

My only concern with this dress is I’m not entirely sure how comfortable I am with the amount of boob I have on show. I’ve always thought you should have one on show, legs or boobs and to be honest, this does conform to this rule, my legs were covered and my chest not so much! I mean I absolutely LOVE the dress, but I felt a little too ‘on show’ and wasn’t quite sure if it was really appropriate at a wedding, besides, I didn’t really want to put people off their dinner now did I!!!

Team this dress up with a pair of nude heels though and I think it would make a cracking addition to any occasion wardrobe. Maybe I should even dye my hair baby blue to match the dress... Now there’s an idea!

My final outfit choice was no disappointment, this ‘ASOS DESIGN floral one shoulder slinky drape front maxi dress’ was maybe my last and final purchase but definitely not last in preference. I bought it mainly because I adored the bright and fresh floral pattern. I also choose it because I liked the look of the shape and length, it looked particularly flattering on the model.

The one shoulder look was classy, and the drape effect of the waist covered a multitude of sins including any underwear misshapes! It wasn’t too tight like my previous choices but was loose and comfortable, the fabric soft against my skin. So no problem with having to wear any tight tummy corset or control underwear!! I loved it and teamed up with some pink sparkly heels and a back-hair piece I thought I was practically onto a winner……

The Male Factor

No Wedding would be the same without having that special someone hanging off your arm and I have to say I am no different. I love watching my hubby try on new clothes and I love it even more when he’s dressed up in a smart, fitted suit. I personally think suits are one of the main items of clothing that when made to measure, make SUCH a difference. When buying a suit from a shop, they usually have standardised sizes which don't always fit perfectly - that's why a properly tailored suit is a guaranteed win!

Having said that, you can’t disregard a well-made suit, I bought this one from ASOS because I thought the colour was fantastic and also a little bit different. Besides who wants to blend into the crowd right?! Due to the more modern style, the standardised sizes actually worked well on him!

The colour is bold but funky, and teamed up with a classic white shirt and blue stripped tie I think it’s a great look. I think Oliver was a little unsure about the skinny trousers to begin with as this is quite a different / new style for suits & for him. In the past they have conformed to the more boot-cut or straight leg styles but as fashion has changed so has the suit, but I think they work well and fit great to his figure. The amount of elastane used helps with this fit and also makes them more comfortable, especially when you have 3 courses to eat and copious amounts of booze to consume!! An added bonus of stretching fabric is less creases and less ironing. So what isn’t there to love about this suit…. & the person in it too!!

So in the end I went for option No5. It was both comfortable and classy and ideal for a summer wedding, I also felt sexy and confident in it which made me happy. It also went perfectly with the husbands suit and shirt, which has to be an added bonus point #nailedit

All in all I think the two of us scrubbed up pretty well. Although I have to admit that these photos were all taken early on the night, I couldn’t possibly comment on anything past 10pm. Although I wouldn’t expect anything less at any EPIC Wedding…

Happy Guest List buying....... L
